The burger picture is a very effective way to capture and communicate information and data. The more you learn about the way Starbucks has taken control of its social media presence, and turned it into something that truly benefits the company , you can't help but take notice and compare them to other large corporations who still haven't managed to grasp or understand the significance of social media! It's been both fascinating and horrifying to witness. I do think that if your organization is facing a situation similar to what XL is going though, there is no doubt that retracing your content strategy, re-focusing and re-calibrating will go a long way to helping solve the crisis. It's a shame XL couldn't or wouldn't learn the same lessons!Stevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08842290874817373283noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8003713513939693333.post-13254167268311237372012-10-31T17:48:31.392-07:002012-10-31T17:48:31.392-07:00Awesome post! I think this is a great example of how companies experience some inertia after they've developed any kind of communication and then don't put as much importance in evaluating and growing from what they're doing. This probably relates well to one of the content strategy elements that we discussed in class this week - the one where you re-calibrate and re-focus.RCantillerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16016427843250618906noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8003713513939693333.post-18258180611244189342012-10-15T21:15:06.879-07:002012-10-15T21:15:06.879-07:00Thanks Joanne, I appreciate the comment - I'm ...Thanks Joanne, I appreciate the comment - I'm pretty sure you can understand that urge to write when an amazing topic presents itself!Stevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08842290874817373283noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8003713513939693333.post-13989769073932735612012-10-14T15:30:56.984-07:002012-10-14T15:30:56.984-07:00Great and timely post. But more importantly, the overall diagram reminds the writer that the message is such a tiny part of the overall post. How you chose to display it, the tone you use, the wording, the image that you include with it, the specific audience you are reaching, etc. It makes me wonder how many wasted hours are spent on posts that no one reads or bothers to click on because they aren’t strategized enough if it all. Looking at this makes me dissect what catches my eye on social media, and what content I am actually absorbing. I think the main problem is not everyone in the general public gets what they are all about and how to use them... something that needs to be kept in consideration when using them in promotional campaigns. ilonahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03951457364328875525noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8003713513939693333.post-82344145162988818212012-09-30T18:34:10.931-07:002012-09-30T18:34:10.931-07:00I really enjoyed reading your post.
